I’ll have more to come on this - a full post and write-up, but for now, here’s a short scene from Mad Men, Zombie Apocalypse.
FADE IN
INT. BOARDROOM — DAY.
Don Draper, but a zombie scans the room and takes a breath.
DON DRAPER
(Dramatic pause)
Nostalgia
It’s delicate, but potent.
Don gets up out of his chair and lights a cigarette.
You think AI is going to kill the brand?
Please. I’ve been dead before.
Don blows smoke out of various holes in his body.
AIO is taking over.
SEO is done.
And performance marketing had its moment. (Don glares around the room)
In a sea of sameness, only brand stands out.
People need a story they can believe in. (Don sits back down and snuffs out his Lucky Strike)
Brands don’t die. They get reanimated.
The ones with soul? They haunt you forever. Like me.
FADE OUT.
